Introduction
Connect Plumbing and Maintenance has been established for 8 years, based in Shepparton. As a business, they travel throughout the east coast of Australia, and service many industries including: agriculture, waste management, and civil construction, along with industrial and commercial construction and general maintenance.
Background
Connect Plumbing and Maintenance were contracted to assist with two local Shepparton projects; Fred’s Interstate Transport, and GV Cold Storage. For Fred’s Interstate Transport, automating oil, waste oil and water systems to their gantries were required. For G.V. Cold Storage, they needed their fire services upgraded for future developments.
Fred’s Interstate Transport
The beginning process of using oil in the workshop starts with clean oil being put into holding tanks that supply the gantry for heavy vehicle services. When the waste oil is collected, it is delivered to another holding tank that then went through a filtration process to supply the boiler for hydronic heating for the floor of the workshop. The challenges that presented in this situation was the delivery and removal of waste oils.
Connect Plumbing and Maintenance contacted Ibex Australia, as they knew that Ibex’s Impress 316L stainless steel press fit tube and fittings would allow the team to run pipe through the roof and understood that a stainless steel press fit system would be compatible for waste oil – as well as for water systems.
G.V. Cold Storage
Connect Plumbing and Maintenance needed to run a suspended fire service through a cool storage facility. The challenges presented in this project were the amount of concrete and the heavy/high trafficable area.
When faced with this challenge, Connect Plumbing and Maintenance needed to find a suitable option to bring the fire service overhead that was suitable for current and future developments at the facility. They compared both the roll groove galvanised tube system, as well as Ibex’s Impress 316L stainless steel press fit system. They ultimately opted for the Impress press fit system, as they knew it would be compliant and provide long term benefit for the facility.
